The Technology Is Here, Let's USE It!
I would like to take this opportunity to urge, cajole, and compel those of you with even a modicum of technical and computer skills to jump in the fight and help get the word out about the spiffiness and the necessity of an armed, prepared society.
Mad Hatter took full advantage of this when he started an SMVM page on Myspace. It now has more friends than we have ever had subscribers to our newsletters, or attendees at our meetings. This is a good example of someone taking the initiative and using modern technology to our advantage. You can add to the fun by starting your very own Myspace page and joining up as a friend of The SMVM.
Chuckwagon has posted a small handful of videos on his Youtube page. Here again, we have a young, technically savvy person using a modern technological advance to promulgate the causes and issues of the militia. Plus, the videos are cool. You can help by posting videos of your own, taking some short clips at training, PARTICIPATING in a taped event at training, or even helping out with editing and distributing CDs and DVDs of our clips. Contact us to find out how. (Note: New, extra spiffy videos are being produced regularly by Thumper, and will be posted on a semi-regular basis. He also has hi-res DVD versions of many of the videos, which we will be bringing to our meetings and such.)
Many of you can simply add our url (um, that would be http://www.michiganmilitia.com) to you e-mail signatures and maybe even on your own personal web pages, or your own Myspace page.
Myspace and Youtube are just two examples of rapidly growing technological opportunities for us to reach out to many other people. Using these clips and links and such for this purpose is sometimes referred to as "viral marketing", which has NOTHING to do with viruses of any sort.
If you can contribute along these lines, such as a page on Facebook or similar thing, let us know. We will link to it, and heap glory upon your name.
